Preparation of a crystalline derivative of/3-lac-toglobulin containing two equivalents of firmly bound dodecyl sulfate is described. The solubil-ity, mobility, titration curve and denaturation temperatures of the derivative are compared with the corresponding properties of/3-lactoglobulin.
