Glomus fasciculatum Gerd. Trappe emend.Walker and Koske,Glomus constrictum Trappe were separately and/or mixed inoculated on seeding of Forsythia suspensa(Thunb.)Vahl.The effects of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi on drought resistance were studied in this paper. The results showed the content of chlorophyl and free proline were increased, the activity of SOD was enhanced,MDA and damage of membranes were decreased and the rate of seedling death was reduced with the adding of infection rate when F.suspensa suffered from drought. It indicated that mycorrhizal fungi can strengthen the anti-drought of the seeding by cumulating rapidly free proline and enhancing quickly the activity of SOD,deferring the harmful degree of cell membranes, strengthening the drought resistance of the seeding in the stress of drought.Among different manner of inoculation, mixed inoculation was the best and G.constrictum was second.
