It is shown, in the framework of N = 1, d = 4 superconformal tensor calculus, that the recently proposed supergravity theory based on a 16 + 16 multiplet is reducible and equivalent to either a real linear multiplet coupled to old minimal supergravity or to a chiral multiplet coupled to new minimal supergravity.
