Alkoxylation of heterometal-functionalized polyoxometalates is an important strategy for tailoring the physical and chemical properties of these multimetallic systems. Here, we describe the targeted synthesis of a series of heterometallic tris-alkoxy functionalized clusters [Ti2V4O5(OCH3)11(OCH2)3CR′], where R′ = CH3, C2H5, NO2, and [TiV5O6(OCH3)10(OCH3)3CR′], where R′ = C5H4N. Product isolation reveals design criteria for the self-assembly of heterometallic POV–alkoxide clusters, and adds further diversity to this family of polyoxometalates.
