The electrical conductance of liquid and supercritical water to high temperatures and pressures is represented by an equation that incorporates some earlier observed trends and a newly discovered reduced-state relationship presented here. Calculations with the equation are believed to describe within +-1 to +-5% the specific conductance of liquid water at temperatures from 0 to 374/sup 0/C and at pressures from saturated vapor pressure to 1000 MPa (10 kbar). For supercritical water at fluid densities from about 0.3 to 1 g cm/sup -3/ and at temperatures from 374 to 1000/sup 0/C, the uncertainties probably will increase from 5% to perhaps 15% at the highest temperatures and pressures.
