从pombebeschizosaccharomyces中分离出300个减数分裂或孢子形成受阻的突变体，并通过互补试验、连锁研究和细胞学观察进行了分类。共鉴定出5个与减数分裂有关的基因和18个与产孢有关的基因。此外，在细胞融合过程中，检测到一个参与分离壁溶解的基因。
300 mutants blocked in meiosis or sporulation were isolated inSchizosaccharomyces pombeand grouped by complementation tests, linkage studies and cytological observation. In total, 5 genes pertaining to meiosis and 18 genes necessary for sporulation could be identified. In addition, a gene participating in dissolution of the separating walls during cell fusion was detected.
