T he list of adverse drug reactions that are associated with nonsteroidalanti-inflammatorydrugs becomes longer each year (see box). Thecommonside-effects such as gastrotoxicity, renal damage and skin rashes are well known, but considerable controversy still exists as to the true association of these side-effects with drug ingestion. Less frequent adverse reactions include hypersensitivity reactions, blood dyscrasias and a variety of neuropsychiatriceffects.
