Materials and MethodsMaterials.[32P] H3P04 in 0.02 Nhc1 was obtained from New England Nuclear Corp.(Boston, MA). To ensure its freedom from oligophosphates, it was brought to 1.3 N in HC1, heated to 100 C for~ 30 min, neutralized with KOH, and diluted with unlabeled K2HP04. Terbium (III) hexahydrate and sodium orthovanadate were obtained from Aldrich (Milwaukee, WI). The ionophore A23187, pyruvate kinase, lactate dehydrogenase, Escherichia coli alkaline phosphatase (type III), NADH, phosphoenolpyruvate, and buffer components were obtained from Sigma Chemical Co.(St. Louis, MO).
