The biology, ecology and resistance management of the strobilurins, especially picoxystrobin, the lastest member of the class, are described. The broad spectrum activity, redistribution properties, safety and effects on grain yield and quality of cereals are discussed, as well as the sensitivity of fungal populations to the strobilurins. Tabulated data on the toxicity of strobilurins and picoxystrobin to a range of aquatic invertebrate species are given.
