Describes common assessment problems in pediatric psychology and suggests some areas for improvement. Pediatric psychologists are continually confronted with the difficulties of obtaining a good fit between the" construct of interest" and" available measures." Another common clinical concern is evaluating the severity of behavior problems in children with pediatric conditions. Are a child's problems normal for someone with a challenging disease? Or do the child's problems exceed reasonable expectations for children coping with similar medical stressors?
