The present studies describe the development of a lie scale for the Child Abuse Potential Inventory. A total of 515 subjects were employed in the initial development of a scale designed to detect and eliminate individuals who attempt to “fake good” on the inventory. Preliminary norms and reliability data for the lie scale are provided.
