The high-pressure phase transition of bismuth, Bi, has been investigated using an in-situ X-ray powder diffraction measurement at pressures and temperatures up to 8.1 GPa and 440 K, respectively. The pressure-induced phase transition from Bi-III to Bi-V was observed.
