Detecting the expression of TRPM4 in bovine heart conduction system will help to further understand the pathophysiology of TRPM4. Recent studies have demonstrated that mutations in TRPM4 can cause isolated familial progressive cardiac block. TRPM4 is a calcium-activated, non-selective cation channel protein that is not permeable to calcium. It is widely expressed in the organs and tissues of the heart, brain, lungs, and intestines. Therefore, finding out the expression of TRPM4 in the cardiac conduction system will help our understanding of cardiac conduction system diseases. The results of immunohistochemistry showed that TRPM4 is abundantly expressed in the cardiac conduction system. Under confocal microscopy, it was observed that TRPM4 was not only expressed on the cell membrane of bovine heart conducting cells, but also abundantly expressed in the cytoplasm. The large expression of TRPM4 in the cardiac conduction system is the pathophysiological basis of the disease causing the cardiac conduction system.
