Models which the authors consider worth serious consideration are the all ribbon [alpha] -folded chain models based on the [alpha]-helix, [beta]-chain models, mixed [alpha]-[beta] model. The [beta]-chain configuration is in best agreement with experimental data but suggests reinterpretation of recent data on peptide-chain configuration in proteins, in that this [beta] folding may occur in "[alpha]" folded proteins. Data for insulin is in agreement with this.
