In addition to being less common in males than in females, no simultaneous occurrence of papillary carcinoma of the thyroid gland, in a father and son. has been reported. Fisher ( I ) described 2 brothers developing papillary carcinoma of the thyroid metachronously many years apart after upper chest irradiation in childhood and Robinson and Orr (2) described simultaneous development of papillary carcinoma of thyroid in female twins. Described here is a case of a father and son developing histologically identical papillary carcinoma of thyroid, simultaneously, with no obvious predisposing factors.
