[fre] II existe en France un outil permettant aux doctorants de realiser leurs theses entre un laboratoire de recherche publique et une entreprise: ce sont les Conventions Industrielles de Formations par la REcherche (CIFRE). Nous presentons ici les resultats d'une enquete par questionnaire realisee aupres des differents acteurs de conventions CIFRE et qui examine les mecanismes organisationnels qui permettent aux universites et aux entreprises de collaborer a travers la supervision commune du doctorant. Les resultats de cette enquete montrent que le doctorant joue un role de mediateur entre le monde de la recherche scientifique et celui de l'industrie et permet ainsi un echange bilateral de connaissances entre ces deux institutions. Nous mettons egalement en valeur l'importance des relations informelles entre les partenaires qui favorisent la creation de connaissances communes. [eng] It exists in France an original tool to allow PhD students to make their PhD at the same time in a public laboratory and in a firm : the CIFRE fellowships. We present in this article the results of a survey made by questionnaire at the destination of the different actors of the CIFRE convention. This survey examines the organisational mechanism which allows universities and firms to collaborate thanks to the joint direction of the student. The results of the survey show that the PhD student plays a role of mediator between the scientific and the industrial world and allow a bilateral knowledge transfer between the two institutions. We also underline the important role of the informal relationships between the different partners because they let a common knowledge creation.
