Susceptibility measurements were performed on the rare earth antimonides with the composition R5Sb3in the temperature range 4.2 to 200 K under a constant magnetic field of 1 kOe. All the compounds, except La5Sb3and Y5Sb3, show an antiferromagnetic behaviour with Néel temperatures between 12 K(Tm) and 109 K(Gd). La5Sb3and Y5Sb3show a temperature independent susceptibility.
