Skin ulcer formation in perianal infantile hemangioma is often intractable and accompanied by severe pain. Application of common ointments or sheeted wound dressing is often not sufficient to cure the ulcer. We present a case of successful epithelialization of perianal infantile hemangioma, presenting as intractable ulcers, with application of protective colostomy powder. Protective colostomy powder has the potential to be one of the most efficacious adjunct therapies for epithelialization of intractable skin ulcers in infantile hemangioma.
