More than a decade has passed since I wrote" Snail Hosts of Asian Schistosoma Infecting Man: Evolution and Coevolution"(1). Considerable progress has been made during this time in understanding the patterns and processes of evolution of triculine snails throughout Asia and the pattern of coevolution with schistosomes. This progress has been made possible through research initiatives in China and India, particularly as a result of initiating work in Yunnan, China in 1983.
