In this review on human spontaneous ultra weak photon emission the historical development is presented, which illustrates the different viewpoints for initiating this special line of research. The mostly single observations have led to a collection of data, which give insight in questions about protocol to handle subjects prior to photon recording, technical aspects of recording the body pattern of emission intensity, color spectrum, relation to health and disease, and mental influence on emission. Recently, we have evaluated several of these aspects experimentally. The results are presented.
