This report describes the localization of the human melanoma inhibitory activity gene (MIA) to human chromosome 19q13.32-q13.33 using fluorescence in situ hybridization and polymerase chain reaction. MIA acts as a potent tumor cell growth inhibitor for malignant melanomas. 22 refs., 1 fig.
