We are truly grateful for the attention given to our Target Article (Connor et al., 2019) by respected colleagues from multiple disciplines. An overall theme within the commentaries is that there is a dearth of articles about female genital cutting (FGC) that provides guidance for healthcare for those affected. We agree with this sentiment, which was a primary motivator for our work. In our response, we will attempt to summarize important points in the commentaries and address some of the concerns raised.
