The article focuses on the first Impressionist exhibition, which opened on April 15, 1874 in the former studios of the notorious Persian photographer Nadar in Paris, France. Over two hundred works led by the Impressionists Monet, Degas, Pissarro, Renoir, and Sisley were exhibited. This was the first large-scale independent exhibition held in Paris. This exhibition challenged the salon, the academy, and the official art world. This exhibition was seen as the emergence of a united modernist group.
