The article discusses the study" Living in proximity of a bar and risky alcohol behaviours: a longitudinal study," by JI Halonen and colleagues in the August 2012 issue. According to the author, the number and location of alcohol outlets in the locality should be addressed if there is problem with alcohol-related outcomes, and a small corresponding increase or decrease in risky alcohol behaviour is associated to moving a place of residence close to or far from a bar.
