4 Cross-linguistically, morphological marking on verbs and nouns can indicate that a plural5 ity of events or individuals is distributed with respect to another plurality. In these verbal do6 main, these have been called pluractionals; in the nominal domain, they have been called dis7 tributive numerals or dependent indefinites. This paper discusses recent semantic approaches 8 to the cross-domain parallels between the two phenomena. After establishing some formal and 9 typological background, we introduce a number of recent compositional challenges that have 10 been introduced by these patterns. 11
