In the title mononuclear complex, [MnCl2(C18H13N3O)(CH4O)], the MnII ion assumes a distorted octahedral geometry. There is a π–π stacking interaction between the phenanthroline ligand and the pyridine ring of a neighboring complex [centroid-to-centroid distance 3.5518 (13) Å]. The crystal structure also contains weak intermolecular O—H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds that link neighboring complex molecules into a one-dimensional chain along the b axis.
