Introduction. Formal schemes are defined in many ways by several authors (eg,[~ 1 [31 [~ 1 [6]). Let k be a field, &Ik the category of commutative k-algebras, E-the category of sets, and the functor category of M to K. The objects of Plkg are called k-functors.= k
