that the erosion of the Westphalian state system has led to a large-scale re-evaluation of the trade-off between peace and justice that made the Treaty of Westphalia possible in the first place. Hutchings contribution to the IR literature is welcome (though it would have benefited from a few commentators from outside the United States), if for no other reason than that the term 'post-cold war era' sounds increasingly like the beginning of the post-Westphalian era in a very tangible sense.
