The interzeolite conversion of silicoaluminophosphate-type zeolite, SAPO-5 with AFI topology, was performed using a cyclic secondary amine, pyrrolidine, as an organic structure-directing-agent (OSDA). The introduced quantity of silica (SiO2) in SAPO-5 zeolite severely affected the framework structures of the products formed, and SAPO-5 possessing minimally reduced SiO2content caused the interconversion to successfully yield a novel topological crystal, designated as GAM-4. Structural elucidation revealed that GAM-4 is found to be a new open-framework microporous crystal with 1-dimensional 10-ring channels along thea-axis constructing by polyhedral (4-, 5-, and 6-coordinated) Al and tetrahedral P atoms.
