better informed about their disease and treatment. Also, the responders predominantly reported granulomatosis with polyangiitis as their diagnosis, representing possible misclassification of disease or a skewed sample. In summary, our study demonstrates that patient awareness of potential adverse effects of vasculitis therapy is low and reported practice regarding protective measures is variable. This suggests the potential for improvements in care, including the development of clinical services to include comprehensive and systematic regular assessment of both disease and treatment complications. With these strategies, it is hoped that the mortality and morbidity of patients diagnosed with vasculitis can continue to improve.
