A case ofC. albicanscellulitis is reported in an 83-yr-old diabetic woman following percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy. During endoscope insertion, whitish plaques suggestive of candidosis were identified in the hypopharynx and it is postulated that this was the source ofCandidaseeding of the gastrostomy site. The patient was successfully treated with amphotericin B (total dose, 500 mg).
