This article discusses systemic Citrobaeter freundii infection in common carp, Cyprinus earpio L., fingerlings. A batch of 250 common carp fitigerlings were brought from a fish farm at Bhadra Reservoir, Karnataka, India, and stocked in plastic pools. The hngerlings were fed with artificial feed containing groundnut oil cake, rice bran, fish meal and tnineral salts. All the 50 moribund fish examined yielded a Gram-negative, oxidase negative, fermentative, citrate utilizing baeillus in pure eulture.
