BackgroundAdministered by HRSA, Ryan White Comprehensive AIDS Resources Emergency (CARE) Act programs provide a unique opportunity to incorporate risk assessment and prevention interventions into the clinical care of people living with HIV/AIDS. Ryan White programs fund State and local governments as well as other public and private nonprofit organizations to provide HIV primary care and support services for people living with HIV/AIDS. Each year over 900 clinical settings funded by the CARE Act provide HIV primary care to medically underserved HIV-infected persons.
