After resuscitation, the provision of end-of-life care is arguably the next most important “treatment procedure” that all who care for critically ill children should be expertly and demonstrably proficient at. The past decade has seen increasing examples of interventions to improve the quality of the end-of-life care in adult and PICU (7–12). It is now time for us to “get with the guidelines” and start measuring and reporting on the quality of end-of-life care in the PICU.
