The authors have analysed the reports of 1414 salivary gland tumors reported in literature during the period 1927 to 1960. Pleomorphic adenomas are the most common of the intraoral minor salivary gland tumors. Malignant tumors were equally distributed in the various salivary glands. Benign tumors appear in the 4th and 5th decades of life, malignant ones in the 6th. The palate was the site of predilection for all of the minor salivary gland tumors. Adenocarcinoma is the most serious of these tumors, growing rapidly, spreading quickly to the lymph glands, and offering a very poor prognosis. || ABSTRACT AUTHORS: D. C. Lyons
