One-way electric vehicle (EV) sharing is expected as a means of transportation that raises the modal share of public transportation while maintaining user convenience. The service operator, however, faces a vehicle stock imbalance issue. To find ways to cope with the issue, the authors examined the influence of various operational parameters on the service by simulation. This paper describes the simulator the authors developed that is based on an event-driven state transition model, which takes an input information about demand and distribution of resources, such as vehicles and parking facilities, and returns evaluation indices of the service number, etc. The simulator was applied to an EV sharing service, “Ha:mo RIDE”, in the Toyota City Low-Carbon Society Verification Project.
