The major purposes of clinical examina tions of voice patients are:(1) to diagnose the étiologie disease (s),(2) to determine the degree and the extent of the étiologie dis ease^),(3) to evaluate the degree and the nature of dysphonia,(4) to determine the prognosis and (5) to monitor changes. The vocal function is a multidimensional function. It is something like physical strength. Physical strength cannot be deter mined with any single scale. There is no sin gle measure either with which one can evalu ate the entire aspects of the vocal function. 1
