The min. detectable amount of alpha -amanitin by this technique was approx. 10 ng (20 mu l of a 0.5 mu g/ml sol.). Samples from patients poisoned by Amanita phalloides, compared with authentic alpha -amanitin, showed values between approx. 70 and 90 ng/ml serum.
