A 34-year-old man presented with a 3-month history of intense itching of pubic area, which had been previous diagnosed as dermatitis and unsuccessfully treated with topic steroids. Physical examination showed small, yellowish flecks in the hair of lower abdomen and pelvis (Fig.1a). Dermoscopy examination revealed typical broad body of pubic lice, grasping hairs with large middle and hind legs like athletes (Fig.1b and Video) and many small oval nits on the hair (Fig.1c). Microscopy examination demonstrated the internal structure of lice (Fig.1d) and nits (Fig.1e). We diagnosed pubic lice. The patient was treated successfully with 5% Sulfur Ointment after shaving of the lower abdomen and pubic area.
