To identify a monobasic mutation in a gene and regulate gene expression in cells, we synthesized an inchworm-type PNA-PEG conjugate modified with nonaarginine (R-9) as a cell-penetrating peptide (i-PPc(R-9)). We found that this i-PPc recognized a monobasic mutation and suppressed luciferase expression with high sequence-specificity in cancer cells.
