Anatrachyntis lunulifera(Meyrick, 1935) (Lepidoptera: Cosmopterigidae) is distributed in the Pacific region, for example, in Fiji and the Marquesas Islands, and larvae of this species feed on the male inflorescence ofPandanusspecies. In our study,A. lunuliferawas collected fromPandanus odorifer(Forssk.) Kuntze in Amami oshima Island, Okinawa-jima Island, and Miyako-jima Island, the Ryukyus, Japan. This article is the first report ofA. lunuliferafrom Japan, North Pacific. In this study, we have redescribed and illustrated the adult, male and female genitalia ofA. lunulifera,and illustrated those ofA. incertulella(Walker, 1864), anotherPandanusfeeder occurring together withA. lunuliferain the Ryukyus, for comparison.
