Special experiments were made in the subsonic low-turbulence wind tunnel T-324 of the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics of the Siberian Branch, USSR Academy of Sciences with the aim of making a more detailed study of the conditions of occurrence of transverse flows in the case of laminar flow along a corner. The velocity U∞ of the undisturbed flow was varied from 2.3 to 5.5 m/sec [Re1 = (1.5–3.5) · 105 m−1].
