RESULTSAnalysis of variance was performed on the isozyme levels of the three populations.* TABLE 1 shows the results of each population comparison. Although there were no significant differences between isozyme levels of adult males and adult females in each population, the Eskimos had significantly lower CA I levels compared to whites and blacks. The American blacks' CA I1 levels were significantly higher than the whites and Eskimos. FIGURE 1 demonstrates the effect of age on CA I levels of the Eskimo population.* Several regression equations were tried, but a nonlinear exponential one (Y= O1+.! 12e-B3X) made the best fit.
