The prostate gland contains a higher concn. of Zn than any soft tissue in the human body previously investigated. The mean Zn content of all specimens of human prostate was 682 [plus or minus] 70 ug./g. dry wt. Carcinomatous prostates contained much less Zn than normal glands, and the amt. of Zn in any given prostate was directly related to the proportion of alveolar tissue present.
