A movie poster design system is proposed by introducing interactive evolutionary computation (IEC) into StyleGAN. This system suggests a poster layout and colors, which are suitable for the movie, in order to help designers to create nice posters efficiently. In this system, first, StyleGAN generates multiple movie posters with various layouts and colors, and then IEC is applied to refine the design based on the user’s subjective evaluation. IEC updates the latent space of StyleGAN by evolutionary process. Since each part in the latent space corresponds to the rough structure, detailed structure, and color of the poster respectively, the design can be controlled by manipulating each part of the latent space. Computer simulations shows effective performance of this method.
