2. Materials and methodsFusarium cubense Smith (Tii 133) was cultured, its mycelial weight and sideramine content measured, and the radioactivity counted as previously described [2, 3, 6]. For preparation of cell-free extracts, the mycelium was filtered through a Biichner funnel, washed with 0.1 M T&buffer (PH 7.2), resuspended in twice the amount of buffer (containing 0.04 M mercaptoethanol) and sonicated for 1.5 min (Branson Sonifier B-12).
