An infant 4 months old was admitted to the clinic with an expressionless masklike face and cyanosis; temperature 36.8° C., weight 5.2 kg., no rash, but with scleroderma, heart grossly enlarged in all directions, and liver well below the costal margin. The child was in a collapsed "state with very rapid respirations suggesting pneumonia. The blood count was normal. After 3 weeks in hospital, during which time the child had several times seemed on the point of death, broncho-pneumonia supervened with fatal results. P.M. : the gross heart and liver enlargement was found to be due to hyperglycogenosis.-R. A. McCance.
