A collection of Callianassidea (Decapoda, Pleocyemata), sampled during the R/V Maria S. Merian MSM 16/3 "PHAETON"-cruise offshore Mauritania in 2010, has been examined with respect to the new taxa of Callianassidea established by Sakai & Türkay (Crustaceana 87(2): 129-211, 2014). The collection has been deposited in the Senckenberg Research Institute and Natural History Museum, Frankfurt am Main and comprises specimens belonging to the Infraorder Callianassidea: two superfamilies, Axioidea and Callianassoidea; four families, seven genera including one new genus; and seven species including five spp. nov. are described.
