This chapter discusses the reproductive strategies ofMeloidogynespecies, and summarizes data available on aspects of their physiology, biochemistry and sensory biology. Specific topics covered include the following: reproduction mechanisms and cytogenetics; moulting; respiration; enzymes, other proteins, amino acids and sugars, neuropeptides, complex carbohydrates, lipids and steroids involved in reproduction biology; and sensory perception and neurotransmission.
