Clerical workers have been observed in three building societies, each having a different type of office. Environmental, convenience, comfort, and activity variables were measured for each individual. Statistical analyses were then performed on the data to compare the different patterns of behaviour in the traditional cellular office, in the open-plan layout, and in the environment created with vertical panels.
